The challenge for this project was to update the cover designs for a series of classic children's books in order to engage a modern day audience. The book covers in the series each display an important visual element from each story on the front cover, while at the same time building a visual relationship between the other covers in the series. Since the common theme from these books deal with the main characters breaking through existing barriers to get to improve their situation, I chose to use imagery of a fence on the covers to convey that message.
